From the same laboratory as Diego dalla Palma Professional — treatment makeup for the client who refuses to compromise.
Most makeup brands make promises. RVB Lab Make-Up backs them with clinical data, verified through the University of Naples Federico II — the same research institution that validates the Diego dalla Palma Professional skincare range. That is not a coincidence. Both brands share the same Italian laboratory, the same 70-year legacy of dermocosmetic science, and the same conviction: that what you put on your skin should benefit it, not just decorate it.
RVB Lab was born from the experience and imagination of Diego dalla Palma make-up professionals. It is treatment makeup — colour with a purpose.
The Italian Story
Cosmetica SRL has been crafting professional beauty products in Italy for over 70 years of combined heritage in dermocosmetic science. The company owns both Diego dalla Palma Professional and RVB Lab Make-Up — not as separate ventures, but as two expressions of the same scientific philosophy. Where Diego dalla Palma Professional focuses on skincare, RVB Lab applies identical rigour to colour cosmetics.
Every formula is developed and validated in Italy. Clinical results are verified instrumentally and confirmed through the University of Naples Federico II — meaning the percentages and timeframes you will read about in these posts are not marketing estimates. They are measured outcomes.
Why You Can Only Buy It in a Salon
In South Africa, RVB Lab Make-Up is distributed exclusively by Orleans Cosmetics and is available only through professional beauty salons and spas. You will not find it at a pharmacy, in a supermarket, or on a general retail website. That is not a supply chain limitation — it is a deliberate choice.
Professional makeup prescription requires professional knowledge. The foundation range alone includes nine formulas, each with a different active ingredient system targeting a different skin concern. Choosing correctly without guidance is the difference between wearing the right skincare for your skin type and using the wrong one entirely. When Maureen recommends an RVB Lab product, she is not selecting it from a shelf — she is prescribing it from knowledge of your skin.
What “Treatment Makeup” Actually Means
The phrase “treatment makeup” has become a marketing cliché. In the case of RVB Lab, it has a precise meaning: active ingredients present at a functional dose — the concentration at which they have a measurable effect on the skin. Here are four examples, drawn directly from the product formulations.
Spilanthes Acmella — the plant extract with a botox-like effect
Spilanthes Acmella is a herb with myo-relaxing properties. In both the HD Lifting Effect Foundation and the HD Lifting Concealer, the Perfect-Lift Complex derived from this plant targets expression lines and improves skin elasticity while you wear your makeup. The Meso Fill Foundation and Concealer take this a step further, combining Spilanthes with Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 for a filler-like cosmetic effect with high skin penetration. No injections. No recovery time. Just makeup that works while you wear it.
PATCH H2O — five days of hydration from a foundation
The active system in the Hydra Booster Foundation. A hyaluronic acid 3D network combined with trehalose, serine, and urea delivers express hydration within 30 minutes of application and maintains deep hydration for up to five days. In clinical testing, 88% of subjects reported softer skin after 21 days of daily wear. A moisturising foundation is a common claim. This is a measured result.
LASH REBORN CPX — mascara that promotes new lash growth
The active in Give Me More Mascara, present at 2%. It works at the lash bulb — the foundation of each lash — to strengthen anchorage, reduce shedding, and promote new growth. Clinical studies show new lash growth after 30 days of consistent use. A mascara that contributes to growing your lashes is a different proposition from one that simply coats them.
Beautif-Eye 4D Complex — four under-eye concerns, one concealer
The hero active in the Meso Fill Concealer. It works simultaneously on dark pigmentation (by detoxifying glycotoxins), puffiness (by improving microcirculation), fine lines (via ElasticBlur Technology), and overall under-eye skin quality (via Hyalu Smart PGA, which enhances hyaluronic acid delivery). Most concealers cover these concerns. This one is formulated to correct them.
What Is Not in the Formula
Every RVB Lab Make-Up product is formulated without the following, confirmed in conformity with CE Regulation nr. 1223/2009:
No heavy metals (nickel, lead, chromium, mercury, arsenic, cadmium). Many lower-cost cosmetics use pigments and raw materials that carry trace heavy metals as a byproduct. RVB Lab’s exclusion is documented in the official product manual and confirmed to European regulatory standard.
No mineral oils or petroleum derivatives. Mineral oils form an occlusive layer on the skin surface. They do not penetrate, they do not nourish, and over time they can compromise the skin’s natural moisture regulation. Their absence here is intentional.
No parabens. The preservative class most commonly linked to endocrine disruption concerns. Every RVB Lab formula is paraben-free.
No gluten or gluten derivatives. Relevant for clients with coeliac disease or gluten sensitivity who experience skin reactions to cosmetic formulas containing gluten.
No animal testing — confirmed per current European regulations, on end-products and during each phase of production. All formulas are vegan-friendly.
